Gerber Baby – Is It Safe Or A Scam?
31st July 2010 by Babies No CommentsOne of the most well regarded product logos inside the planet, the Gerber baby is recognized throughout the planet. Regarded as by many being the image on the “ideal” baby, it is a beloved symbol that has represented this well-known infant food company for over 80 years. Since its humble beginnings, this fantastic image has inspired warm feelings in consumer and is thought to become what launched Gerber Infant Foods into being one of the most well-known infant food on the planet.
Started small town of Fremont, Michigan, the company now regarded as Gerber decided it was time for a new look in 1928. They were simply sold locally, but wanted something new for their packaging, so they had a contest for a painting or drawing to go on a new label.
There were many submissions, and also the judges had a complicated choice to make. Ironically, the drawing that won was regarded as to be a “rough” sketch by the artist and she wanted to polish it up for the label. But, the baby health care charcoal sketch of stunning 5-month-old Ann Turner was chosen by the judges who requested to keep it “as is”. The tousled hair and pursed lips of this adorable child was the ideal picture for their label, so artist Dorothy Hope Smith was named the winner.
The very first time the image was seen nationally as the company attempted to grow, was in Great Housekeeping magazine. From there, Gerber Baby Food became a phenomenon, as did the picture of baby Ann. She became probably the most recognized little one in the world, and still is these days. With the label undergoing just minor changes considering that then, Ann still remains the face of Gerber. In fact, she was there when they unleashed an updated version of the label at age 60. It’s amazing to see that this well-known little one is all grown up now.
