Children Learn Online Faster
Posted by Babies - 31/01/10 at 09:01 pmEven before they are out of diapers many children are now already on the computer. Games that teach proper typing skills from the beginning will be helpful to your childs future success. Having proper typing skills will greatly benefit children and save them from having to unlearn improper habits. Typing games are helpful for all children
skill training and speed abilities. Childrens computer games can make a great babysitter too but as parents we need to take the time to make sure the games our children are playing are constructive and challenging not simply bang bang shoot em up type games. You can be sure kids will want to play some of the more violent games their friends are playing but you are the parent and need to stand firm when it comes to what you want your children to be learning with the games they play.
What do your children want to eat after they have been playing computer games? Some studies have shown that if the games offer rewards to players that are candy and snacks then the children after they finish their gamng tend to want to eat candy and snack type foods. That seems to be the same with adults watching the game on TV… what do you want to eat at half time? More than likely it was what was in the last commercial? So it is the same with children and you want to be careful to find healthy ways to satisfy the craving for the unhealthy foods that will not help them fully develope their potential.
While computer games are helpful and instructive for children we need to rember that children who read books are more likely to understand that reading is important. Early encouragement by parents is important. Reading with your children gives you essential bonding time and demonstrates that reading is fun and enjoyable.
Computer games and videos are part of our social network now and will continue to become even more prevelent as devices capable of playing them proliferate. Games that challenge the child and promote problem solving skill sets are a valuable add on to the games of instant gratification and destroy your oponent without feelings. A well rounded stable of childrens computer games coupled with an understanding from the parents of what can be played when will establish good behavior and responsible learning. The idea that if it is not fun it is not worth doing is not true. Good games demonstrate with clarity the rewards of taking the time to do things the right way and to complete the task at hand. Learning that successful completion of a task is the reward.
Take time to play games with your children. They will enjoy your interest in what they are doing and have fun playing with you. All parents will be pleasently rewarded for the effort and have some real fun with the kids. You are never too old to sit down and play a game and scream and shout with joy. We all remember the times our parents took time to play with us and your children will too plus it's fun.
