Having a new baby is a time of excitement and anticipation. It is also a time of preparation as there are all kinds of things you will need to buy to prepare for the pitter-patter of tiny feet.

One effective way of doing this is by having a baby shower. If you think this will be too much work for your tired, pregnant self then have a good friend assigned to organize it for you. This is a great way of thinking about all that you will need and making sure that friends and family can get you the items that you really want. Organize a list, research what is out there and then check in with a good baby store provider that can help you plan your registry list.

You’ll need to consider a good quality stroller and think about what you will use it for. If you are eager to lose the pounds then a jogging stroller might be best for you. If you live in a city, then a smaller stroller that you can navigate around stores may be better.

A crib is another essential. Baby cribs are easy to adjust and come in many colors, shapes and sizes which will match your nursery. They are also easily converted into a bed for your toddler. Be sure to check the features of the crib that you are interested in.

Car seats must be obtained prior to leaving the hospital as this is the law. Sometimes you can mix and match car seat and stroller or it may be more economical to purchase a travel system which is a two in one system.

Baby girls will look really pretty in the fashionable range of shirts for girls that can be purchased in most major baby stores. Along with these there are some lovely dresses, pastel tights and booties. You can also buy pretty patent shoes for your newborn and cute little hats.

They will also look super cute in some of the active gear for babies such as girls sweatshirts in pastel pinks and fuschias. Baby boys too can be dressed fashionably and in adorable little outfits.

Other essentials are a changing pad, diaper bag as you are going to have many toilet accidents on the go with your new baby and a baby carrier is useful for when you are going for long walks with your baby. Toys are probably not going to be in shortage any time soon, but it is always nice to buy your own little toy as a special memory for your new baby.
